Volunteer Opportunities Education & Outreach Committee: The Committee is responsible for promoting and enacting the educational mission of the organization, as well as the coordination of all internal and external communications including marketing efforts, website, newsletter, media and special events, graphics and printing associated with signage, rolling stock (e.g. vehicles moving on the railway), etc.
Equipment & Infrastructure Committee: Volunteers provide help with all aspects of trolley and track maintenance and rehabilitation. Specifically, the Committee is responsible for all projects in the development, construction and performance stages such as track extension, car barn, overhead wire, changes to existing property, new operating equipment acquisition or locating storage for existing equipment. In addition, the Committee manages all mechanical aspects of the equipment operated upon the rails of, or ancillary to, the operation of the Denver Trolley, including the trolley and motorcar, track, tools and equipment in regard to safety, operability, efficiency, practicality, mechanical aesthetics, and preventive and on-going maintenance.
Operations Committee: Volunteers operate the trolley. Specifically, the Committee is responsible for the creation, implementation, monitoring and enforcement of all rules, regulations, guidelines, and operating procedures related to the operation of the Denver Trolley and related programs, and the initial and on-going training of its volunteers.
Finance Committee: The Committee is responsible for the finances and budget of the organization, and planning and implementing the organization’s fundraising programs, including but not limited to membership development, corporate sponsorship, and other fund development opportunities. The Committee also works with the Education and Communications Committee to develop and implement the Society’s marketing plan.
In 2018, the operating schedule for the Denver Trolley is 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Thursday through Monday, Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. During the Denver Broncos home games (pre-season through post-season), the Denver Trolley offers a football shuttle that runs from REI to Sports Authority Field at Mile High and back again after the game. The Denver Trolley also conducts operations associated with special events such as The Greenway Foundation’s bi-annual RiverSweep and the Children’s Museum of Denver’s “Trick-or-Treat Street.” |
