Platte Valley Trolley is on 9News!

On the Wednesday (September 4) morning news broadcasts, Colleen Ferreira, reporter for 9News, reported on the Broncos game shuttle as one of the public transportation options to get to the NFL opening game on Thursday, when the Broncos will beat the Ravens. Good coverage for the trolley, and great news for Broncos fans!  Also, see if you can spot long-time volunteer Don Hulse walking by the trolley in the overhead shots — we were prepping for Target First Tuesday when a helicopter (unknown to us) was taking video of the trolley!

Denver & Intermountain Interurban Car 25 Open House

Saturday, August 10, 2013, was a fine day for the Open House of Interurban Car No. 25.  The car is now owned by the City of Lakewood, and the Open House was organized under the auspices of the Lakewood Heritage Center.  The weather was grand, and it did not even rain, as it had last year.  At least 177 folks rode the car, and had an enjoyable time.  Part of the enjoyment though was, “talking about the good old days,” when public transportation was much different than it is now and more fun.  Many a story was retold and told again.  It was a very pleasant day!

Volunteers Lee Ryan, Don Hulse, Lee Wellbrock, and Tom Peyton from the Platte Valley Trolley helped operate the interurban car while Paul Wegener and Stephanie Shulman helped with the Platte Valley Trolley information table.
